This volume was originally conceived as a part work, but only eventually struggled into print as a single volume. 44 buildings are shown ( some have more than 1 plate ) of which 38 have descriptive information. Plates are superbly lithographed by a variety of printers. and presented in a number of styles, with the Architects named. Included are plates by Davey James Brooks including Blundellsands and New Town Hall Walsall. Churches predominate but there is a range of Schools, Town Halls. Jewellers Buildings, Assize Court, Schools etc. These exceptional plates constitute a fine social and architectural histroy. Spine strip worn and chipped,corners worn,otherwise a very good copy with no chipping/tears to the plates. neat ink owners name and date ( 1890).
