Landscape 4to, 25x31 cms. 55 pages include title page, 2 pp text, 51 pages photos, 1 sub title-page, (for USA ill's on last few pages). Title page is a photo-litho with sepia floral decoration. The sepia photo ill's are mainly single page, but with up to 5 ill's per plate. All pages are with a classical style framing surround, containing captions. Publishers original binding; heavy, dark grey paper on thick card. The edges are yapped, (the paper extending beyond the boards at the edges). Title printed in black on cover, within an embossed oval. Light grey end papers. This item is in near pristine condition, and is In the original Company "With Complements" envelope, addressed, in neat handwriting, to "Mr W.Slocumbe, 1463, Carpenters Dept". Envelope darkened, and with minor tears. A very scarce item. - .##. - This Album was issued to the shareholders, in order to give an overview of the activities of the Company. Photos of main and branch offices, factories, etc throughout the UK, and with photos of the tobacco leaf warehouses and packing facilities in the USA. The Company was formed by an amalgamation of the major tobacco companies in the UK, the company names continuing in use as branches of the ITC; Wills, (Bristol and London); Edwards, Ringer and Bigg, Franklyn Davy, Mardon and Hall, (3 Bristol companies); Lambert and Butler, Faukkner, Battersea Cigar Factory, (3 London businesses); Ogdens, (Liverpool); John Player, (Nottingham); Stephen Mitchell, and F & J, Smith, (Glasgow); Churchnans, (Ipswich); Davis & Williams, (Chester).
