The social conditions she describes in this little book of reminiscences were even then only gradually changing. To read about them now in 1962 is to take us back into another world. This must also be true of conditions in Congo. Many will, I am sure, read this booklet with great interest, thanking God for all the brave and faithful service done in those difficult days. Although times have changed, new and formidable problems have arisen, young people with the same devotion are called today-for the needs of men and women and the Grace of God remain. Mrs. Christy Davies has done us a real service by writing this interesting and challenging story. E.
