' Every merchant, every producer knows that 1926 - the 12th year after the break-out of the War - will be impressed by intensive work. He knows that not alone he but all the organs of the community must work in order to procure a new comprehensive view of things and in order to find new ways for the energy and initiative. And for the Northern European merchant and producer one of these ways will lead to Copenhagen in the days from the 13th to the 28th of March 1926. In these days the institution DANISH INDUSTRIES FAIR holds its 16th fair, which at the same time will be the first fair in the new exhibition building in Copenhagen, the greatest hall in the North of Europe. What is DANISH INDUSTRIES FAIR? Danish Industries Fair is no fair in the quite ordinary sense. There are several things characterizing the Danish Industries Fair beyond what is known from fairs in the central European towns and in other places. The Danish Industries Fair is an institution which now for the 16th time invites the merchants and the public to show and sale of goods. The fair is an independent enterprise presided over by a board consisting of the Danish Prime Minister, the Lord Mayor and the Mayor of Finance in the capital, and the Prefect and the Mayor of the county of Vejle and the town of Fredericia respectively. The Danish Industries Fair is an institution under the control of the Chamber of Commerce and the large industrial and commercial organizations, and its task is to secure the interest of merchants and consumers in the Danish industrial and mechanical products. This task is sought solved through exhibitions of goods to which both merchants and consumers are invited. The Danish Industries Fair originates in the storied Fredericia on the historic walls of which the outlines of the characteristic exhibition building impress the landscape. Two fairs are annually held, one at the beginning of the year in Copenhagen and the other in the month of August in Fredericia. The Copenhagen Industries Fair bears more the character of an export fair than that held in Fredericia, which is marked by the fact that the large annual sales to the merchants of the Danish provincies take place here and that especially many smaller artisans and traders meet there. The Danish fairs thus differ in many ways from those known elsewhere. Besides being a place where producers meet with buyers, it is a place where the great public every year has an opportunity of studying the improvements of the Danish market. And the public to such a high degree avails itself of this opportunity that in this alone lies an incitement which makes the producers exert themselves further in order to show what they have performed during the time following the previous fair. It is a fact that the annual industries fairs and what is shown on them form the standard of the Danish production .'
