Description: Fine Art Print Day & Son Limited, London, 1865. First Edition, Disbound. Written by Byron in 1816 the Prisoner of Chillon tells the tale of the imprisonment of a Genevois monk, Francois Bonivard, between 1532 and 1536 in romantic verse. Printed on thick card, with gold and vivid colour highlights. Each page, printed on one side only, has a double or triple illuminated border in gold and/or silver, surrounding the text, and often with a decorative initial, each of a differing design. A fine example of the skillful process of Chromolithography, where every single page is printed onto multiple times, one colour at a time, with perfect register. The page is slightly larger than A4 size. Size: A4 (300 x 210mm approx.). Item Type: Fine Art Print. Quantity Available: 1.
