FULLBROOK BRUCE E - Dear-Heart Of Myrtle Cottage

Title: Dear-Heart Of Myrtle Cottage
Description: UK. Softcover. Good Condition. A Story Of Fiction, Fact and Fortitude. Undated but appears to be 1930's, the British Library does not have a copy. iv, 100 pages, size 7.25 inches tall by 4.75 inches, in card covers. Author's Preface : ' To grow old graciously, with all the virtues of patience, forbearance, love, and comeliness of personal attractiveness is not given to all women, even if three-score years and ten are granted them. But occasionally one meets a woman, who in spite of a long life of varying experiences, including domestic responsibilities and family claims, of oft-time sorrows, griefs, and bereavements, will pass through years of such experiences without exhibiting the human manifestations most women would show both in looks and demeanour under similar experiences as they approach the close of life's allotted span. In this book I am portraying the character of one such lovely soul, who, like Job, having been bereft of all that human happiness stands for, i.e. a dutiful daughter-a beloved husband-and a model son-still trusts in a compassionate Deity Whose divine purpose is to console suffering humanity caught in the vortex of a mishandled world, and to restore, finally, much blessing beyond the proportion of life's disappointments. Life is full of compensations-bringing joy for sorrow-gain for loss-laughter for tears-and in this story all these compensations are included as the experiences of Dear-heart (Martha Braithwaite) unfold.* The Author humbly hopes this definitely human story may bring hope, and joy, to many hearts burdened with the sorrows and afflictions caused by two world wars. N.B.-All characters in this story are fictitious, except those mentioned in Michael's Story (chapter 16), all of whom died a couple of centuries ago.-B.E.F.
