Fair Condition. 96 pages. Coventry Kersey Dighton Patmore, born in 1823 in Woodford Essex. The Angel in the House is a narrative poem and an idealised account of Patmore's courtship of his first wife, Emily, whom he believed to be the perfect woman. Patmore was married three times and died in 1896. Undated but copac show it as [1908]. From the Sesame Booklets Series Number 14. Book - in Fair suede card covers with yapped edges, blind stamped and gilt lettering and top edges gilt - some loss to the ends of the spine and top corners, some light marking and sunning.
