On my part, it is an Urge to do something I have never before attempted. Maybe, this book will resolve itself into a sort of semi-autobiography, the semi part being the most interesting. Nevertheless, I am fearful that my collection of stories, in which I figure all too prominently, may tend to egotism ! This tendency if recurring, I will endeavour to subdue by recounting happenings in which I have been the Victim, due either to force of circumstances, or some temporary stupidity on my part. (Isn't it perfectly sweet of me to be so frank even from the very beginning). Well, such subjugation I trust will discount any seeming desire to advertise either-My Talents (if any) ; Accomplishments (if any) ; Modesty (if any) ; and anything else (if any). GEORGE M.
