Interesting well illustrated simple account of the progresssion of the land speed record from G. de Chasseloup-Laubat's 39.24 mph in 1898 to J.Cobb's 394.20 mph in 1947. Ends with a view of Donald Campbell's Blubiird which later held the record. including a splendid fold-out cutaway. Not highly technical, but straighforward account, and well-drawn collour plates of record holders. Darkened at edges pf glazed boards. Spiral bound. a nice promotional item. Very Good +/No Jacket.
