Damp staining to front and rear boards. with slight warping as a result. Spine bands and panel edges slightly dulled and dust-toned as with age. Light damp stain also evident in page margins - text unaffected. Remains quite well-preserved overall; tight and strong. Copy previously owned by Vivian Ridler with his uninked embossed address stamp to front free endpaper. Vivian Ridler. CBE (2 October 1913-11 January 2009). ex-Faber executive was also a printer. typographer and scholar in Britain. He was Printer to the University of Oxford at Oxford University Press from 1958 until his retirement in 1978; and also established his own Perpetua Press.
