Bumped corners. Some tanning and browning internally. Editorial annotations throughout. Remains quite well-preserved overall. Further scans. images etc. and additional bibliographical material available on request. ; 8vo 8' - 9' tall; 0 pages; A collection of offprints. essays and articles by Theodore Schroeder bound in 1 volume. submitted for publication. A letter tipped-in to front pastedown states that the author is submitting the volume of papers for 'editorial consideration.' Some contents are bound. and some are tipped-in. Spine title: Toward evolutionary psychology. Head of contents page reads: Essays along the road from psychoanalysis to evolutionary psychology. Subjects: Psychology -- Philosophy -- Religion -- Medicine -- Sociology -- Culture and society -- Law -- Essays. articles etc. -- United States. The majority of articles contain editorial annotations. Biographical note: Schroeder was a a prolific and controversial author. who wrote mainly of issues pertaining to freedom of expression. His writings became the subject of a lawsuit following his death. In his will. Schroeder left his estate to two friends. with the instruction that the money from the estate be used to gather his voluminous writings and publish them. Two of Schroeder's cousins. with whom he had no contact. contested the will. and successfully voided it. In upholding a lower court's decision. Judge O'Sullivan of the Supreme Court of Errors the State of Connecticut explained. 'The law will not declare a trust valid when the object of the trust. as the finding discloses. is to distribute articles which reek of the sewer.' There appears to be no record of this volume of writings being published in one volume during the author's lifetime. Description: various paginations. 24cm.
