'A brief description of Ireland.' also includes a type-facsimile of the title-page of the first edition of 1590. 'Dublin: printed at the University Press by Graisberry and Gill.' - verso of each title-leaf etc. in vol. 1. and some title-leaves in vol. 2. 'Dublin: printed at the University Press. by M. H. Volume 1 includes a report of the first AGM and a list of members of the Irish Archaeological Society. plus a list of 'Works preparing for publication'. A separate 'Advertisement' slip issued with vol. 1 explains that no. 3 in the Society's publications series has been postponed. A separate leaf bearing a list of the officers of the Society was issued with vol. 2. This leaf was intended to be used to cancel a similar leaf in copies of the Society's publication number 6 ('The banquet of Dun Na N-Gedh and the battle of Magh Rath.'. 1842).
