In addition to The Pilgrim's Progress, he also edited Bunyan's Holy War. The above volume was favourably reviewed in The Monthly Review: "The reader will be apt to infer that our Editor is a Methodist, though he writes in a better style than some of that persuasion...His exposition of Bunyan's allegories will strongly recommend his edition of the Pilgrim's Progress to the Antinomians and the rigid Calvinists in general."
