ARDIZZONE, EDWARD (ILLUSTRATES AND HAND COLOURS) Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts: Jubilee 1898 - 1948.
London County Council. 1948. First edition; small 4to; original publisher's wrappers. Eight drawings three in sepia, by Edward Ardizzone. Inscribed by Ardizzone on the front free end paper, "For Smilby with best wishes for your future career, Diz". The five black and white illustrations have been hand coloured by Ardizzone. A loosely inserted note states "asked Diz, in class to sign. Took it away & amused himself by hand-colouring." Ardizzone taught book illustration at the school between 1948 and 1952. Very good, some fading to top and edges of the front wrapper, which is also a little spotted. Some wear to the spine. A lovely publication, hand coloured by the artist.

Offered for GBP 1000.00 = appr. US$ 1636.00 by: York Modern Books - Book number: 1518
